The opposition party Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has warned of a nationwide protest, dubbed "Jantar Mantar 2.0," if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign within 48 hours. The threat comes amid growing pressure on Kumar following allegations of undermining democratic processes.
The CJP claims that Kumar has acted unilaterally in key decisions, including the formation of a three-member commission and the appointment of an election officer without consulting all members. These actions, the party argues, have compromised the integrity of the electoral process.
Political leaders from the opposition have called for Kumar’s immediate resignation, accusing him of violating the principles of transparency and fairness. The CJP has also demanded an investigation into Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shah for alleged vote theft conspiracies.
