A Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after a cockpit incident involving a knife attack. The flight, FZ1073, was forced to descend rapidly and transmit emergency signals. The pilot, who was reportedly stabbed by a co-pilot, made a mayday call while trembling.
The incident occurred on September 30. A replacement aircraft later landed in Tel Aviv, carrying passengers from the original flight. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the event, describing it as an attempt to crash the plane. The co-pilot is alleged to have tried to take control of the aircraft.
Passengers were safely evacuated after the emergency landing. A replacement flight was arranged to bring them to Tel Aviv. The incident has been treated as an act of terrorism by Israeli media. Flydubai has suspended flights to and from Israel following the event.
The pilot, an Indian national, and Israeli passengers reportedly fought off the co-pilot during the crisis. The co-pilot is currently in custody. The incident has raised concerns about aviation security. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances.
